This shrimp processing plant in Big Creek, Belize, is just one of the many steel portal frame factories that REIDsteel have provided for Belize Aquaculture Ltd. It is one of the world's leading high-tech plants, handling 60,000 lbs of shrimp a day. The plant covers an area of 9000m2, and includes a workshop and warehouse.
Belize's aquaculture industry continues to grow at a rate of 30% per year, an outstanding figure. For developing countries like Belize, processing plants like this contribute massively to 'the livelihood of its people, food security, poverty alleviation, income generation, employment and trade'.
